he Power of Faith in Small Things

 Scripture:
"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
—Matthew 17:20 (NIV)

Devotional:
We live in a world that often elevates the importance of "big" achievements—grand gestures, huge successes, and overwhelming results. But when Jesus spoke of faith, He emphasized the importance of small beginnings. A mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds, yet it grows into one of the most robust and towering plants in the garden. Jesus uses this analogy to illustrate that it’s not the size of your faith that matters, but the object of your faith—God Himself.

The beauty of faith, even when it feels tiny, is that it opens the door for God's power to work. Faith is not about the quantity or the visible result; it’s about trust. Even a small act of obedience, like choosing to believe in God’s promises despite your circumstances, can result in extraordinary outcomes.

Think of a time when you felt like your faith was too small to make a difference. Perhaps you were facing a major life challenge or were asked to do something that felt beyond your abilities. Yet, you took a step forward, trusting God with even a little faith. That small step was enough for God to move on your behalf.

Remember that God can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, and He delights in using our small faith to accomplish great things. No matter how small your faith may feel, when it is placed in the hands of an all-powerful God, it becomes unstoppable.

Application:
Is there an area where you feel like your faith is too small? Take a moment to offer that tiny bit of faith to God. Trust that He can use even your smallest step of obedience to accomplish His will.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to trust You even in the smallest moments. I offer You my small faith and ask You to use it for Your glory. I believe You can do great things with what seems insignificant to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
